My Favorite Gear - Sparkle Skirts

Who says you can’t look cute while you are working out?  Leah, Queen Mum of Sparkle, knows that having gear that is not just extremely functional, but also absolutely adorable, can’t be beat!

When I first started venturing into the running skirt world, I found that every skirt with shorts under it quickly became a skirt with boyshorts when I started to run, and being someone with not-so-skinny thighs, I ended up with bad chaffing.  It took awhile, but I eventually became brave enough to venture into the world of the running skirts with just briefs underneath.  While this was functional in that they didn’t ride up, and worked okay for short distances, it didn’t solve the problem of my thighs rubbing together on longer runs.  Anything longer than a 5 miler and I was in trouble by the end.

It took a lot of convincing at first, but eventually I gave SparkleSkirts a try.  I had several friends that swore the shorts under the SparkleTech would not ride up.   So I ordered my first one, risking $58 plus shipping on their word.  I decided on the red sparkle with a silver ROTE logo on the left corner.   I called Leah to place my order and she was the most helpful person I’ve ever met.  Within a few days, my new skirt arrived.

Of course, like any runner with new gear, I couldn’t wait to take it out for a test run.  And WOW!  I was convinced immediately.  Not only did the legs of the shorts not move a bit during my run, it was literally the most comfortable running gear I’d ever put on.   Longer runs over the next few weeks convinced me that this was going to be my go-to gear for anything longer than a 5k, and thus I needed more.

SparkleSkirt TechSkirt Features:
§  Shorts that don’t ride up – guaranteed!!
§  One large pocket on each leg, perfect for storing gels on longer runs (it’ll even hold a cell phone if you are inclined to run with one)
§  A large hip-to-hip zippered waist pocket, perfect for holding a key, phone, ID, or anything else.
§  Truly flattering for all body-types cut of the skirt, hiding all those curves we don’t want to share with the rest of the world
§  The BEST customer service EVER!!

Since then, I’ve acquired 11 total items from the SparkleSkirt line, including a pair of SparkleBottoms, which are identical to the shorts under the skirts without the center waist pocket and can be paired with the SparkleLight skirts.

My collection currently includes:
§  Red Sparkle
§  Kaboom
§  Neon Luv
§  Pinwheel
§  Race Number
§  Rainbow Disco
§  Black/White/Silver (Everest)
§  Wild Animal
§  Raspberry (Fishnet)
§  Pirate A-line*
§  Black SparkleBottoms

 * The Pirate skirt is PERFECT for Disney Cruise Line's Pirate Parties!  It paired in this pic with a DCL sequined pirate shirt (found at one of the Orlando outlets for cheap).  I've since found a pink headband (bondibands) in the same light pink color with a sparkly pirate/skull emblem to pair with it.

In addition to Pirate Night, this would make an adorable skirt for the RunDisney Castaway Cay 5k on Disney's Private Island!

There are many more on my wish list (this list is ever-growing as Leah finds new must-have prints):
§  Dolotech
§  American Graffiti
§  Betsy Ross
§  All the Peacock prints (Earth, Noir, Bordeaux, Peacock Island)
§  Surf City
§  Half Crazy
