The 2013 WDW 20th Anniversary Marathon medal is revealed!!

So after torturing their runners with The Great Medal Caper over the past week or so, RunDisney has FINALLY released the 20^th anniversary medal for the Walt Disney World Marathon in January.

This is very different than any other medal Disney has done and my first impression is very positive.  It appears to be a double spinner.  The center one alternates between a classic-style black and white Mickey head and the more modern and colorful version.  The spinner ring around the outside of the Mickey head has the following quotes from Walt Disney himself on opposite sides:

“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.”

“I only hope that we don’t lose sight of one thing.  It was all started by a mouse.”

The first phrase is my favorite, lending to both Disney and the marathon.  The Disney theme parks were Walt’s dream.  The marathon is ours.   It takes courage, perseverance and a lot of work to make these dreams come true, but in the end, it is worth all the pain endured along the way.  I look forward to crossing that finish line and having this medal placed around my neck.

The only medal we haven't seen yet is my favorite, Goofy!  I guess that will be the one that remains the same from last year, unless Run Disney has an unannounced surprise for us at the finish line.
