runDisney's Princess Half Marathon - 5th anniversary medal revealed!

Other than the 5k's for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon and WDW Marathon Weekend, the only runDisney event currently open for registration is the Princess Half Marathon.

And it is sure to reach capacity soon with today's release of the 5th Anniversary Princess Half Marathon Finisher's Medal.  Disney's anniversary medals are known for being spectacular - not only in their design, but also added features like color and size.

It seems they have kept the lettering style that was introduced last year, but have changed the basics of the medal from a oval and tiara to a heart with a tiara, and a special splash of color that was lacking on the previous years' medals.

It's hard to tell what the Princess of the year is.  For 2012, it was Rapunzel.  2011 was Belle.  My guess is that 2013 will be Merida, from Disney-Pixar's Brave, though the lanyard in the 2013 medal picture above is purple, like last year's, rather than the green-blue color that is often seen associated with Merida.
